BOC Iride athletes did quite well this past weekend in the USASA Southern Vermont Series Boardercross. Young lads Sam Mcvicker and Carter Chila placed top ten in their division (Menehune boys) in both races with Carter getting 4th and Sam placing 5th respectively. Carter placed 5th on Sunday. This is awesome as this past weekend was the first time competing in BX ever for both athletes.
In the 12-13 breaker boys age group, Dakota Torrey placed 10th on both days out of 22 athletes in a very strong division. Dakota was super close to making into the 3rd round on a strategic pass, but was unfortunately caught up in a jumble where 3 riders went down, including Dakota. This is Dakota’s first year racing BX and he finished 6th place overall in BX in the Southern Vermont Series out of 25 competitors. Good stuff Dakota!
Our last competitor Amanda Burnham had a great weekend. She placed 5th on Sat., and followed through with an unbelievable performance on Sunday’s event by receiving a bronze 3rd place finish in her age group! We are super pumped for Amanda as we have watched her improve leaps and bounds during her first year training/racing BX.
Congrats to all the competitors and please stay tuned for more updates to come.
