IMPORTANT UPDATE TO SATURDAY’S RACE:
Registration and awards will be out of the base lodge at CARINTHIA, where the terrain parks are. Carinthia base lodge has food as well. The race hill will be Inferno not South Bowl, and is accessible by foot. There is no need to go to the main lodge at Mt Snow- follow signs for Carinthia. I plan on being there by 7:45, the latest.
Plan for Sunday is to work on skills in and out of the course. Sunday morning will be a light focus to give everyone some down time, and for those sticking around Sunday afternoon, we will have a drill set up somewhere to work on transitions, hopefully Ridge.
Tune up, Rest up, Bring your USSA and VARA cards.
See ya soon

J6 Parents and Athletes,
Another soggy week here in the Green Mountains, but we are expecting cold weather tonight and tomorrow night so snow making will be underway at Bromley.
I hope everyone had fun at last weekend’s last-minute race on East Meadow. It sure looked like all the skiers had a good time, and I’m pleased to see our skiing improving for nearly everyone.

David Samuels (Skyler and Casey’s dad) was able to take a number of great photos of the racers. Here’s a link so you can look through them.

Please note: Our canceled Pabst race from last weekend is now rescheduled for February 12 at 1pm.
See you on the mountain!

JISP has been cancelled for Wed 2/1.
Innkeepers has been cancelled for this morning because of the incoming weather. Right now it has started to rain, and there is a big weather system moving in rapidly. We will keep you all posted on a makeup date. Have a good day
In case you were wondering how the reclassification will take place, VARA has posted this chart to help us understand the migration. http://vara.org/forms/AgeGroupStructure2013.pdf

Due to the tough weather we’ve been experiencing we will be forced to move the date for the Pabst Race scheduled for 1/29 will be moved to Sunday February 5th at 1pm. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We hope to have better conditions to work with next week.
It would be great to say that the current winter event will be all snow, but I think I would be misleading you. Let’s just hope that after all is said and done, we end up with more snow than rain or sleet. Safe travels to everyone.
This weekend, BOC will again be hosting another Pabst race on Sunday afternoon- same place and time as the first Pabst race. J5s will spend some time on Saturday and Sunday morning, continuing to train for GS. Our next USSA race will be at Mt Snow on February 4th, which is a change from the original date of February 5th. Please note this! It’s a Saturday.
See ya’ll soon,
Sue
P.S. If it’s any consolation about the weather here, my skis are TOTALLY trashed from training in the west. Oh well. It’s a real sport at least.
JISP has been cancelled for Friday January 27th due to the forecasted weather.
Hope this posting find everyone well and ready to move into the second half of the season. The Bromley crew has continued to do a great job of providing us a terrific playground, despite mother nature’s evil efforts. Most of our athletes will be around this weekend(due to postponed events) to enjoy some training before the crazy schedule’s of February and March kick in. Also, we are planning a BBQ for Saturday(28th) and would welcome any assistance and/or donations to help offset the cost/efforts of providing this wonderful fare for our members and staff.
This weekend’s events include an exciting boarder/skier cross competition on the Plaza hill for Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday afternoon we will be hosting the second Pabst race of the year on the East Meadow. These events are always fun and are great opportunity to work off your volunteer commitments.
We would like to remind everyone that our biggest fundraiser of the year is also approaching, Febfest. We are always looking for help in gathering outstanding auction items, please help our club by seeking out items from your business and personnel contacts. Let’s us know what you come up with.
