KWCF & BOC

The Bromley Outing Club would like to thank the Killington World Cup Foundation (KWCF) for their funding of our Junior Instructional Ski Program (JISP) to assist with scholarships and to keep the cost at the same rate for the 2020 season.

Members of the Killington World Cup Foundation (KWCF) recently awarded 22 grants totaling $252,000 to Northeast area nonprofits in seven states through a competitive grant opportunity. KWCF, formed during the Women’s World Cup this season at Killington, supports programs seeking to increase winter sports participation for youth throughout the Northeast and assist with competition and training infrastructure.

The Bromley Outing Club (BOC) is known throughout the local Southern Vermont community for our Junior Instructional Ski Program (JISP) as well as serving as a gateway for life-long participation in Alpine Racing and Freeskiing on both a competitive and recreational level.

JISP has been teaching local school children to ski since 1951. There are almost 400 area students in our weekly JISP ski program.  Students in grades three through eight are dismissed early from school one afternoon per week and instructed to ski and snowboard by volunteers under the direction of the BOC. For many Vermont children, JISP is their first exposure to skiing and many of our ski instructors and staff were product of the JISP program themselves!

Thank you to KWCF for supporting the BOC and our JISP program!!
