About the Race Program
The Bromley Outing Club alpine race program is geared to those interested in a fun and educational experience; while instilling, the values associated with competition. The clubhouse is located at the base of Bromley Mountain in Southern Vermont where storage and organization of the alpine events is held. When hosting an event and or training the athletes are stationed on East Meadow or Lords Prayer. Both of these trails are where many alpine competitions are hosted yearly.
The clubs oldest competitors (U21-U16), compete in the Vermont Alpine Racing Association (VARA); as well as, a select few individuals per qualification standards are able to compete in the FIS circuit. Although, the U16’s are able to compete within the Vermont Cup circuit, they also are a part of the Southern/Middle Vermont Council series. The youngest (U14-U10) athletes in the program, compete in the Southern Vermont Council, a sub-division of VARA. This series is comprised of alpine clubs from the southern portion of Vermont: Stratton, Magic, Mount Snow, Willard (NY); with a rotation of specific events being hosted by each mountains alpine programs.
Another program that the Club supports is the boys and girls Burr and Burton Academy Alpine Team. The men’s team just recently accomplished a 4-peat as State Champions and the women’s team placed as runner up for the first time since 2008. The club and East Meadow are the home of the BBA alpine team and here is where the team hosts all its VPA Southern District events and practices.
