Greetings from Vermont! The leaves are changing, the nights are cool, and I am very excited to share with you the details of our weekend competitive program for the 2021/2022 season and to officially open registration!

2021/2022 Program Pricing:
All weekend program rates are $1,800 per athlete.
Volunteer bond (additional details below): $350 per athlete
Friday training pre-buy (additional details below): $400 per athlete
BOC membership (required): $50 for individual, $75 for family membership
2021/2022 calendar for Weekend Competitive, Freeski, and Devo programs is below:
Saturdays & Sundays beginning 12/4/2021 and ending 3/20/2022. Please note that there is no training on 12/25/2021 (Christmas) and 1/1/2022 (New Year’s Day).
Holiday week training: 12/27-12/31 and 2/21-2/25 (Christmas and President’s Holiday Weeks)
Friday training will begin on 12/17/2021.
Our daily schedule will generally follow the below:
Meet coaches in front of the BOC building, ready to ski: 8:15am
Morning training: 8:30am-11:00am
Unsupervised lunch: 11:00am-12:00pm
Afternoon training: 12:00pm-2:30pm
*Age and training groups may deviate slightly from this schedule as decided by weather and available hill space
Covid-19 Vaccination Requirements
In order to participate in the weekend competitive program in any age group, including Freeski and Devo, the Bromley Outing Club requires that all athletes are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 if they are eligible to receive the vaccine. We will require that athletes are fully vaccinated in a reasonable timeframe after their 12th birthday (7 weeks), and within a reasonable timeframe after they become eligible for the vaccine (7 weeks). Proof of vaccination will be required prior to the start of training, including any pre-season camps. All coaches and staff will be required to be vaccinated. Any un-vaccinated parent or guardian who is required to fulfill volunteer obligations will only be able to volunteer for outdoor roles and will not be allowed into any BOC building (including race structures).
Take Advantage of Prepaid Friday Training!
Prepay for your Friday training when you register to save as compared to the daily rate. We are offering the pre-pay rate of $400 for all Friday sessions offered.
Prepaid Friday training is only available as an add on to a full season program registration, and includes all Fridays when training is available and scheduled for your age group. Fridays will be offered for a minimum of 8 Fridays with a target of 10 available. Prepaid Fridays must be purchased before training begins. You cannot choose to purchase the prepaid option after your athlete has accrued training sessions. If you choose to pay as you go for Friday training, prices will be $85 per day and $55 per 1/2 day for athletes enrolled in the weekend programs. We will invoice you from the coach attendance sheets on a biweekly basis. You can sign up online with your registration or in the office before training begins. If your athletes are not enrolled in the weekend competitive program and wish to join Friday training sessions, please contact Mike Healy at mike@bromleyoutingclub.com.
Volunteering
The Bromley Outing Club operates all our programs with the understanding that parents must volunteer to run our races, which provide a significant source of income for the club. Each athlete registered must pay a volunteer bond of $350. This bond will be returned at the end of the season if volunteering requirements have been met. Each family is required to contribute two “days” (2 work-day credits) of volunteering during the season for each athlete the family has enrolled. For larger families the volunteer requirement is capped at 5 credits. Many opportunities exist both off and, on the hill, to satisfy your volunteer credits. Work-day credits vary per position ranging from 1/2 to 1 day credit for each volunteer assignment.
Fundraising & Raffle Tickets
The Bromley Outing Club must achieve a certain level of fundraising every year to continue to support our scholarship programs and to keep the cost of our programming more affordable for all. As a part of the weekend programs, each athlete will be required to participate and sell at least 24 raffle tickets as a part of our traditional “Feb Fest” celebration and fundraiser (drawing to happen at end of February 2022). If athletes are do not sell their tickets, parents will be required to buy them out at the multi-ticket rate of $10/ea., 3/$25, or 6/$40. This represents a maximum buyout of $160 per athlete.
Freelap Timing System & Chip Fee
We are very excited about continuing our use of the wireless timing training system from Freelap this season. The more opportunities we have to time (starts/split course/tucks) consistently and in different situations, the better prepared our athletes will be at races and to measure and meet their own personal goals.
With this system each Alpine athlete U12 and older is required to purchase a timing chip. The chips will be utilized in training on a regular basis.
· The one-time cost to purchase a training chip is $100 which you can add during the registration process.
· The chips will be owned by each family/athlete, and the BOC will hold and be responsible for keeping track of the chip when athletes are not using them.
· Each chip will be assigned to a specific athlete for its life and will move up through the age classes with the athlete as the chip holds the athlete’s training history.
· If an athlete loses a chip, they may purchase another from us for $100.
· If an athlete ages out or does not choose to stay with the club next year, we will buy your chip back for $50.
Please purchase your chip now with registration, as we must order the chips so they will be here by December.
